1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero<\/strong><\/h1>

Virexxa Invest Source Ltd is fully committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2045, in alignment with the UK Government\u2019s decarbonisation targets and climate objectives.<\/p>

We recognise the role we play as a government supplier in reducing our environmental impact and actively support the UK\u2019s transition to a low-carbon economy.<\/p>

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint<\/strong><\/h1>

Baseline Year: 2019<\/p>

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases emitted before the implementation of carbon reduction strategies. This baseline is used as a benchmark for measuring future progress.<\/p>

4. Emissions Reduction Targets<\/strong><\/h1>

We have set the following carbon reduction targets:<\/p>

\u2013 50% absolute reduction in total emissions by 2030 (vs. 2019 baseline)
\u2013 Achieve Net Zero by 2045<\/p>

We will monitor progress through annual reviews and publish updates within our sustainability reports and project-specific reporting obligations.<\/p>

As of the end of 2024, we have achieved a 39% reduction in total GHG emissions.<\/p>

5. Carbon Reduction Projects<\/strong><\/h1>

Virexxa Invest Source Ltd has implemented and planned the following carbon reduction initiatives in line with our Net Zero trajectory:<\/p>

  • Actions Completed to Date:<\/li><\/ul>
    • Transitioned 75% of company vehicle fleet to hybrid vehicles (2022)<\/li>
    • Plan commenced to Switched to 100% renewable electricity across UK operations (2023)<\/li>
    • Deployed smart meters and energy monitoring to reduce building emissions (2023)<\/li>
    • Introduced remote\/hybrid working policy to reduce travel and office energy use (2021)<\/li>
    • Eliminated single-use plastics and introduced sustainable waste disposal protocols<\/li><\/ul>
      • Planned Measures:<\/li><\/ul>
        • Achieve ISO 14001 certification by Q4 2026<\/li>
        • Transition to 100% electric fleet by 2028<\/li>
        • Implement Scope 3 supplier engagement and low-carbon procurement policy (2025\u20132030)<\/li>
        • Introduce lifecycle carbon assessments in project planning and investment reviews<\/li>
        • Invest in verifiable offsetting for residual emissions beginning 2035<\/li>
        • Collaborate with public sector partners to support joint carbon reduction schemes<\/li><\/ul>

          6. Environmental Management Controls<\/strong><\/h1>

          We are developing an integrated environmental management system to:<\/p>

          \u2013 Track real-time energy use
          \u2013 Identify inefficiencies in building and fleet operations
          \u2013 Guide procurement decisions through sustainability-weighted criteria
          \u2013 Incorporate carbon reporting into all large project bids<\/p>

          This system will ensure all government contracts meet or exceed PPN 06\/21 requirements.<\/p>

          7. Declaration and Sign Off<\/strong><\/h1>

          This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed and published in accordance with PPN 06\/21 and associated guidance.
